The New Brunswick Public Library Card is your passport to a wealth of information, books, electronic resources, music, services and programs. Public libraries in New Brunswick operate as a networked system and share their resources as much as possible. Your public library card can be used at more than 66 service points (62 public libraries and 4 bookmobiles) across New Brunswick.

Library Cards are free to any permanent resident of the province and are good for three years. In order to obtain a card, you will need to visit any provincial public library with appropriate ID (Driver's License, Medicare Card, Birth Certificate, etc.). In the case of a child under 13, a parent/guardian signature is required.

Anyone who is staying in new Brunswick, but who does not meet the residency requirements for a regular patron card, can register for a Visitors Card. A $20 non-refundable fee is required and the card will expire after one year. Proof of local address and identification must be provided.

Borrowing Materials:

All circulating material maybe be borrowed for a three-week regular loan period.

Renewing and Returning Materials:

Renewals may be made by phone or online at any time. You must have available the card that was used to borrow the item (s), your password, usually the last four digits of the phone number that was given at registration. The Book Drop is open for returns during closed hours only.

Fines:

The following fines apply to overdue materials:

Books, CD's, magazines, etc.: $0.15/day per item (maximum $3.00 per item)
