The New Brunswick Public Library Card is your passport to a wealth of information, books, electronic resources, music, services and programs. Public libraries in New Brunswick operate as a networked system and share their resources as much as possible. Your public library card can be used at more than 66 service points (62 public libraries and 4 bookmobiles) across New Brunswick.
It's Free! Get Your Card Today!Library Cards are free to any permanent resident of the province and are good for three years. In order to obtain a card, you will need to visit any provincial public library with appropriate ID (Driver's License, Medicare Card, Birth Certificate, etc.). In the case of a child under 13, a parent/guardian signature is required.You can get your card by visiting any New Brunswick Public Library, or online at this page.
Just Visiting? You Can Get One Too!If you are visiting New Brunswick, you can get a temporary card. A $20 deposit is required, $15 of which is refunded when you return your card. Bring in one piece of identification and proof of local address.
Borrowing Materials:All circulating material (books, cds, magazines, etc.) may be borrowed for a three-week regular loan period. Please Note: Videos and DVDs may be borrowed for a one-week regular loan period. Reference books are shelved with non-fiction, but are for "in-library" use only.
Renewing and Returning Materials:Renewals may be made by phone or online at any time. You must have available the card that was used to borrow the material you wish to renew. In most cases, the item may be renewed twice, unless it has been requested by another patron. The Book Drop is open for returns during closed hours only.
Fines:The following fines apply to overdue materials:Books, CD's, magazines, etc.: $0.15/day per item (maximum $3.00 per item) Videos: $1.00/day per video (max $10.00 per video) Also see: Online Catalogue |
